Our experience dining at Restaurant Bühlberg in Lenk
We lunched at Restaurant Bühlberg when we hiked on Via Alpina from Adelboden to Lenk in July 2020. Yes, lunched – although dining is possible we arrived early and went for an afternoon lunch instead. Bühlberg belongs to the 5 star hotel Lenkerhof, situated in the valley of Lenk. From the outside tables guests can enjoy the view of the Bernese Alps.
Bühlberg is a restaurant with a spectacular view to the Swiss Alps
When we hiked on Via Alpina from Hahnenmoospass to Lenk we spotted the restaurant Bühlberg immediately. The modern building with its garden terrace overlooking Simmental is an eye-catcher and can’t be missed. We decided to take a culinary break and were lucky to catch the last available table on the terrace. I think we’ve never had a table with such a view over the Bernese Alps before. Spectacular!
Traditional Swiss food is served at the restaurant Buehlberg
Matthias ordered boiled veal in horseradish sauce and vegetables. He found it to be good really good. I ordered a salad (no picture, I was too hungry) and it was absolutely fresh and had a knack. I loved the French dressing. The food is down-to-earth Swiss traditional and delicious. The presentation gave a hint that it belongs to the 5-star Hotel Lenkerhof.
Restaurant Buehlberg is famous for its desserts
Restaurant Buehlberg seems to be the go-to spot for dessert lovers. We observed many people taking the bus from Lenk to Bühlberg to eat desserts and enjoy the view to the Swiss Alps. So we couldn’t wait for ours to arrive. While I went for a heavenly portion of strawberries with strawberry sorbet, Matthias decided to go for a Swiss classic: Meringues with vermicelles and whipped cream. He looked very happy while eating it and very full after he had finished it.
We loved Restaurant Bühlberg for its views and desserts
Location is the secret ingredient of Restaurant Bühlberg. Lunching or dining with a view must have been invented here. Thanks to the bus connection from the village Lenk Restaurant Bühlberg is also accessible to non-hikers. In winter, skiers can access it as well. We totally can see us dining here at some point. For now, we will remember the amazing views while eating the best (and biggest) desserts on Via Alpina.
