Hiking the Via Alpina: Griesalp to Blüemlisalphütte

The hike from Griesalp to Blüemlisalphütte is suited for expert hikers only as it’s very steep. The hike is 6 km long and takes you 1466 meters uphill and 25 meters downhill. It took us about 5 hours to complete. It starts on the Griesalp and ends in the Blüemlisalphütte. This hike is considered the “kings leg” of the Via Alpina as it offers amazing views over the Swiss Alps.

Hiking the Via Alpina: Wengen to Mürren

The hike from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen to Mürren is a medium intense hike on the Via Alpina and takes about 4 hours to complete. It’s 11km long and takes you 499 meters downhill and 836 meters uphill. The hike offers stunning views of the Lauterbrunnen valley, impressive sights of the Jungfrau, and ends in the picturesque village of Mürren.

Hiking Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen

The hike from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen is an easy to medium hike on the Via Alpina and it takes about 2.5 hours to complete. It’s 7km long and takes you 788 meters downhill. The hike offers stunning views of the Eiger north face and the Jungfrau and takes you along the legendary Lauberhorn ski run to the village of Wengen.
